Is This For You?
Investing is not a destinationit is an ongoing journey. But this journey's path is lined with brokers, financial journalists, and other so-called "experts" whose interests are generally contrary to yours. Although many investors are capable of managing their own investments, few investors are able to implement a long-term investment plan and ignore these distractions.
This is where Mesa Management can help. We create a personalized investment plan based on your long-term goals and priorities. We then provide the discipline that will help you meet these long-term objectives.
Who We Work With
At Mesa Management, we specialize in individually managed accounts, company and organization accounts, and 401K plans for smaller entities.
The Tough Investment Questions
Before you make any decisions about your investment portfolio, ask yourself the following questions. Your answers should indicate whether you are making the most of your investment dollars.
- Have you analyzed your own long-term investing requirements and developed a plan to meet those needs? Have you implemented an investment plan?
- Do you conduct a yearly performance review of your investment plan?
- Do you periodically rebalance the assets in your portfolio to maintain asset balances within your investment plan guidelines?
- Have you adjusted your investment plan to meet any significant changes in your life situation (e.g., marriage, divorce, retirement, or deaths)?
- Does the standard deviation (level of risk) of your investment portfolio allow you to sleep comfortably at night? Are you being compensated for that risk?
- Is your portfolio invested in all the major asset classes, worldwide, for the widest possible asset diversification?
- If your funds are taxable, are your investments in tax-managed index funds?
- Do you rely on recent past performance (less than 5 years) to select investments for your portfolio?
We encourage you to thoughtfully consider your answers to these questions. Setting up your portfolio is fairly straightforward once you have determined your return vs. risk parameters. The difficult task is periodically rebalancing the holdings to maintain your portfolio's integrity, particularly when the entire securities industry and media are telling you otherwise.
